Scope & Content The Myrtle Nelson-Racek Collection consists almost entirely of photographs of friends and family of Myrtle Nelson Racek from the Barnesville area. All of the photos that are included in the collection are posed portraits taken in a studio approximately between the years 1915 and 1963. Photos in the album are identified not all of the photos in the rest of the collection are Along with the photos there is a certificate of perfect attendance from Sunday school that she received as a child in 1912.
Admin/Biographical History Myrtle Nelson-Racek was born in 1903 in Barnesville Minnesota. She married Frank Racek, a native Nebraskan, in Barnesville on October 3rd 1925. He passed in 1949. After her husband passed she spent time volunteering and was a long-time member of the Clay County Historical Society. Myrtle Nelson-Racek passed away in 1967 at the age of 63.
