Scope & Content The records included in the collection span the 1920's through the 1960's. They show a fairly good snapshot of what life was like for regular farmers in this part of the country during that time period as can be seen through a variety of financial records such as tax forms and reciepts for purchases for the farm. There is an especially interesting but of correspondence from First Citizens Bank in Barnesville which was settling with the Spurgeon's after the bank had to close during the Great Depression.
