Scope & Content The collection contains photocopies of surveyor's field books from the St. Paul division of the Army Corps of Engineers and records of Red River Surveys all from the years 1873-1881.
Admin/Biographical History The Red River Valley was surveyed by the Army Corps of Engineers mostly between 1877-1881, though there was a sounding done in 1873. 1877-1881 is when the Army Corps of Engineers was in the area mapping the path of the Red River.
