Ludvig Walker came from Norway in 1869 to the States, he started out in Wisconsin, then moved to Minnesota in 1878 in the Kurtz Township. He started his family there and became very interested in farming, and becoming very prosperous with his effort.

Thomas Nitter Walker, born in 1889 and passed away in 1970. He farmed in Rustad Minnesota, active in the Farmers' Union of Minnesota, also active in local politics. He had four children, Carl, Basil, Thomas Jr, and Pearl. Kept photographs and letters from close family and family in Norway.

Carl Walker, son of Thomas Nitter Walker, Walker, was a corporal in the war and on his return to Fargo he opened an automobile agency. Later on he became sick after returning from the war, frequently staying at Hot Springs for his health and moved to a warmer climate in California and opened another automobile agency. He was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

Basil Walker was born in 1936 and passed away in 2002, he was very active in politics, and served as the Postmaster for many years. He also ran for State Legislator in Moorhead as well. Died in 1995.

The Farmers' Union collection dates from 1934 to 1949. It has lists of its members, letters to the members and their families, records of their meetings and projects they worked on. Both Thomas Nitter Walker and Thomas Walker Jr were active in this society.

Photos from the years 1812-1980, some of the photos are not dated or the people are unknown. However most are labeled as family photographs, and friends of the family. Included are many postcards from when the family traveled, they always sent letters or postcards to one another to keep in contact.
Family History collection dates from 1899-1968 and includes address books, bibles in both English and Norwegian, death cards, wedding invitations, notes on family, and newspapers relating to the family and the farm they lived on.
