Scope & Content Contains meeting reports for the American Legion Auxiliary, Melvin E. Hearl Unit #21 Moorhead from 1933-1951. It also includes “annual histories” that started being compiled in 1940. The annual histories were compiled from the meeting minutes and started being compiled in 1940. They cover through 1961-1962 when the donation was made.
Admin/Biographical History The ladies Auxiliary for the American Legion served as a service organization that worked with causes that helped veterans and their families. For example one of the projects they did in the 1930's that got a lot of attention from the local papers was to create Christmas baskets for the Veterans at the VA Hospital who may not otherwise have received a gift.
