Scope & Content The collection consists of records from the Moorhead Auto Club. It contains information relating to their school patrol sponsorship, information on their disollution in 1969, and a scrapbook that contains newspaper clippings from the 1930's up through the 1960's that re both related to the activities of the club and general automobile safety issues.
Admin/Biographical History The Moorhead Auto Club was organized April 12, 1912 with the purpose of the club was to lobby for better roads and to promote traffic safety. The club started a School Safety Patrol Program to help protect children at crosswalks. They ran a high school drivers training class. They also provided safety information for elementary school children, and visited the schools to give safety information to the students at assemblies. In 1969 the Auto Club decided to disolve their corporationand merge with the Minnesota Auto Club.
