Scope & Content This collection contains accounts of life in early Moorhead written by B.F. Mackall, photos, and other items relating to early Moorhead. Also in the collection are two series of scrapbooks, one (three scrapbooks) that contains pamphlets, flyers and trade cards from the Centennial Exhibition of 1876. The second (two scrapbooks) contains newspaper clippings from the 1860’s to the 1880’s.
Admin/Biographical History Benjamin Franklin (B.F.) Mackall arrived in Moorhead in 1873, hailing from Maryland where he was born in 1851. He ran B.F. Mackall drug store on Center Avenue in Moorhead for 60 years as well as serving as postmaster and on the city council. He died in 1935.
