Admin/Biographical History The Andrew Johnson store was established in the late 19th Century when Andrew Johnson and Peter Larson began a timber business in Hawley, MN. Soon after starting the business they expanded into other areas. First it was machinery and then went out to other goods and services after that. Andrew Johnson was the first car dealer in Moorhead selling three Model S Ford’s out of his store. In the late 1890’s the Johnson Store operated on a bartering system to help combat the depression that dominated Northwestern, Minnesota at that time.
