The Hoyt Land Company specialized in brokering the sale of farm land According to deed records the Hoyt Land Company under the leadership of Frank A. Hoyt began buying up land for sale around the Red River Valley in 1899. Frank Hoyt's last land purchase happened around 1912. This is the last purchase of land that is listed in the deed index for Clay County. In his obituary it is mentioned that he had a large real estate business until his retirement so it can be suggested that after 1912 Hoyt Land Company went from the buying and selling of land to acting as strictly brokers.
