Scope & Content 14 photographs of the Fargo-Moorhead area with most of the subjects being members of either the Sycamore or Dual City Cycling Clubs. There is one photo of the inside of the Emory Johnson Sporting Goods Store in the Fargo, ND ca. 1895. Four of the photographs were taken by Ole Flaten
Admin/Biographical History The subject of the Heifort photos is cycling. Cycling was very popular in the area around the end to the 19th century. There were two cycling clubs around the Fargo-Moorhead area the Dual City Wheel Club and the Sycamore Cycling club. The clubs would occasionally sponsor a 20-40 mile ride on Sundays. cycling lost popularity in the area after the invention of the Model T and the proliferation of cars being driven in Fargo-Moorhead.
