Scope & Content The collection consists of the calendar that the State Bank of Hawley handed out to their customers on the occasion of their 100th Anniversary. Every month has a historical photo of the Hawley State Bank along with a caption. On the back of the claendar their is a brief history of the bank.
Admin/Biographical History The State Bank of Hawley was established in 1892 by Ole Olson who helped encourage settlers to farm near Hawley Minnesota. The original bank was w wood structure built by Ole Hagen and located on the SE corner of Front and Sixth Streets. It was replaced by a brick building in 1902. A new bank was built in 1969 on the SE corner of Sixth and Hartford Street.
